Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes

paypal@vpaso.net

Hello everyone! This is Mio.Today,

I am hiking on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes.

Kumano Kodo is a network of ancient pilgrimage trails in the Kii Peninsula. These trails have been used for over 1,000 years by pilgrims visiting the three grand shrines of Kumano: Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Nachi Taisha, and Kumano Hayatama Taisha.

The trail I am hiking today leads to Kumano Hongu Taisha. It winds through beautiful forests, past rivers, and over ancient stone paths. The scenery is breathtaking, and the peaceful atmosphere is perfect for reflection.

Along the way, there are small shrines and tea houses where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings. The hike is challenging but rewarding, offering a deep connection to nature and history.

Kumano Kodo is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-visit for anyone who loves hiking and history. Please experience it if you have the chance!

That’s all for today. See you next time!
